Electrocuting The Tango
With rich bass, jazzy piano passages, and melancholic tones, the sound wizard Norwegian, Sverre Indris Joner and his colleagues have succeeded with their program, "Felino." In program, the ensemble uses an ample range of electronic sounds of tango from Bajofondo, Gotan Project & Co. The musicians were even nominated for the 2007 Grammy Award. For the first time you can experience the extravagant project now live in Dresden. With it are numerous pieces from their new CD which will hopefully be released soon.
"The Viking with a Latin Soul," is how the Norwegian Press describes Sverre Indris Joner. The trend to combine electronic music with Latin American sounds is not new, but is presented by Electrocutango in a very special way.
Their sound does not fit any ordinary "music-drawer": The bass drum can be heard almost constantly. The electric piano gives the songs their jazzy character, not to mention the ‘swooshing’ sound collages with a "chill-out" effect. One thing is certain: This evening will be a very special listening pleasure.
