Born in Munich in 1964, Barbara Dennerlein is part of the circle of the few German artists with international reputations. Her reputation is based on creating brilliant and original compositions, and perfect virtuoso playing techniques with which she creates extraordinary sound collages.
She knows how to put her favorite instrument, the Hammond B 3 - organ - but also the classic church organ - into the context of contemporary, current jazz music.
Musically, there are no rigid boundaries for Barbara Dennerlein, but always smooth transitions. She manages to combine influences from swing and bebop, blues, soul, Latin and funk with traditional as well as modern jazz. "For me Jazz," admits Barbara Dennerlein, "is a synonym for freedom. The freedom from prejudice and discrimination, freedom from coercion and convention." This she will give to her audience, creating mainly on stage an unforgettable and captivating experience.
After numerous CD releases and awards Barbara Dennerlein is among the first ranks of the jazz protagonists and has played herself not only into the hearts of listeners, but also the critics.
